There are two ways to enter here. The official route into the North Newport River and the Walburg Creek route. Walburg Creek is an official anchorage. I prefer to anchor up near the exit of the creek. It is primordial there. No houses, no boats, ...quiet. The only problem with this alternative is that the exit from this creek has only 4 feet of water at low tide. The tide here is 7-9 feet so anytime but low tide it is no problem. If you need a marina there is Half Moon Marina off the ICW up the N. Newport River a few miles. Water depths in the N. Newport River are less than charted. use caution at low tide.
