Fernandina Beach is a great place to visit. It is a beautiful old town with lots of historic houses and little shops. You can anchor in the harbor. There is a dingy dock at the left end of the Fernandina Harbor Marina. Be aware of the Tides when approaching the harbor marina as it runs quite briskly. The marina has recently been dredged and a mooring field added. The Mooring balls are $15 day and gives you water, showers, trash and dinghy dock privileges.. Courtesy docking for provisioning is also offered for three hours. Dinghy dock is $2 and showers are $1.50. Lovely town with hardware and convenience stores in walking distance. Grocery and all those other stores are a couple of miles as usual.

Atlantic Seafood (904) 261-4302 is at the right end of the marina. They carry fresh local seafood and beer and wine. You have to enter the south end of the marina and go past several rows of slips to reach it on the right

Fernandina is a great place to sail. The Cumberland Sound is spacious enough and the inlet to the ocean is right there. Pictured above are the Windward Sailing Schools boats.
